Pathway to Fitness for Tidworth School Children

Clarendon Junior School in Tidworth has just officially opened a new ‘pathway to fitness’ that Knights Brown built over the school summer holidays. The path is intended to support the government’s national Childhood Obesity Plan. The plan encourages schools to help pupils improve their health and well-being by walking a mile a day amid growing concern about the number of youngsters who are overweight and obese. The Fitness Challenge Pupils are now able to complete the national ‘Daily Mile’ challenge, which aims to get children running or walking outside for 15 minutes every day. This past summer we were lucky enough to be joined by Isabel from Nottingham Trent University. Here is her own record of the eight weeks she spent with our South East Division. “I am currently studying Civil Engineering at Nottingham Trent University and about to start my second year. Rwanda – not your average holiday destination

While many were making their escapes to sunnier climes this summer, our team of 10 Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) volunteers was heading to Budende in Rwanda, for a once in a lifetime experience. Through our industry partnership programme with B2P, we teamed up with Tony Gee & Partners to each send five volunteers to build a much-needed bridge in a remote community, which is cut off from essential services such as schools, markets and healthcare when their local river floods in the rainy season. This is our second bridge build. Why bridges?A single bridge can have profound impacts. Studies...

Turbine installation completed at Dudgeon

Tweet On 4 September 2017, A2SEA’s SEA CHALLENGER completed the installation of 67 Siemens 6MW turbines on the 402MW Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm for Statoil, Masdar and Statkraft. “I am very happy to announce that SEA CHALLENGER and crew have installed the final turbine at the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm. We would like to send a special thanks and congratulations to the entire team behind the operation for a smooth project execution as well as an outstanding safety performance. This includes both the crew on board the vessel, the project team and of course our clients and good colleagues at Statoil and Siemens Wind Power”, says Michael Glavind, CEO at A2SEA. “Dudgeon has been a very good project for us. Especially Statoil have been very engaged; they have supported us in the safest and most efficient project execution. We always strive to ensure a safe and efficient project execution, and there was always time to work safe. This has been a big contributing factor to a good job carried out by all departments. The soil conditions on Dudgeon have been one of our biggest challenges to date. The soil cannot be compared to any other soil we have been jacking on, so we have gained very useful experience and knowledge from this project, too.” The Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm is owned by Statoil (35%), Masdar (35%) and Statkraft (30%)...
